Essex Theatre Company’s Barn Dance & Adirondack Two-Step with live music will be held at Whallonsburg Grange Hall, 1610 NY-22, Essex, NY 12936, on July 10, at 7:00 pm. Too Tall String Band and Friends will play for the event. Costumes welcome. Snacks and drinks available. The music draws from Irish, Scottish, old-time, blue-grass, and French-Canadian folk traditions, creating a festive atmosphere. Square dancing and the two-step with dancers forming long lines of couples, with partners facing each other, will be explored. Each dance consists of a series of figures or moves that the caller teaches before the music starts and provides guidance during the dance. All are welcome to join the fun! |
