Birding Walk at Point Au Roche State Park: Join CATS for a Nature Adventure

Discover the beauty of birdwatching at Point Au Roche State Park! Join Champlain Area Trails on Friday, December 5th, at 9 a.m. for an engaging birding walk at the Point Au Roche Nature Center in Plattsburgh.
This event runs from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and is perfect for nature enthusiasts of all skill levels. Our friendly guides, Kristin Collins, an environmental educator at Point Au Roche State Park Nature Center, and Samantha Beck, the Community Engagement and Outreach Manager for Champlain Area Trails, will lead the walk. While they’re not expert birders, they bring a deep love for nature and an interest in birdwatching.
Explore the Great Outdoors:
Located on the stunning northwestern shore of Lake Champlain, Point Au Roche State Park features an excellent combination of forested and open areas. As we stroll a few miles along the trails, we will look and listen for birds and other wildlife. Enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Champlain and lush forests during this delightful morning outing!
Important Information:
– This is an outdoor walk in December, so be prepared for cold weather.
– BYOB (Bring Your Own Binoculars) – the Nature Center will provide a few pairs for those in need.
