WETWARE, with special guest director Jay Craven

January 19 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

The Champlain Valley Film Series brings award-winning, independent film director Jay Craven with his latest film, Wetware, to the Whallonsburg Grange Hall on Saturday, January 19, at 7:30 p.m.

Wetware is the thrilling, fascinating, futuristic story of a world not far off when a bioengineering company creates Mungoes, humans who’ve been stripped of all memories, feelings, and free will. They are stoic, docile, perfect for menial labor, until the lead engineer begins secretly implanting two of them with artificial memories and emotions, even the ability to love. Craven’s newest film explores the essence of what it means to be human.

Director Jay Craven will introduce the film and answer questions. Craven has directed four films based on Vermont author Howard Frank Mosher’s novels along with many other highly acclaimed films. He is a professor of film studies at Sarah Lawrence College and is currently writing a memoir.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for those under 18.  The Whallonsburg Grange Hall is located at 1610 NYS Route 22, in Essex, New York.
