The Personal History of David Copperfield – Saturday, February 27th at 7:30pm  Grange Site Link

In order to help keep our community healthy, we won’t be showing movies at the Grange this winter. Instead, the Home Together Winter Film Series has picked five movies you can watch anytime on your own at home and then join a REEL TALK via Zoom. You can listen to a provocative discussion about the film by a special guest and submit your own questions. We can be Home Together with great movies and lively speakers until we can be together in person in front of the big screen at the Grange again.

THE PERSONAL HISTORY OF DAVID COPPERFIELD is available to rent on iTunes or Amazon.

This fast-moving, often hilarious, and always entertaining film brings to life Dicken’s well-loved epic. Oscar nominee Dev Patel stars as the hero of this semi-autobiographical story about a man who weathers the hardships and cruelties of Victorian England to become a celebrated writer.

“An irresistible romp. Don’t miss it.” – Rolling Stone.

“Too delicious for words” – Washington Post.  “A delight” – New York Times

REEL TALK speaker: Elaine Ostry is an English professor at SUNY Plattsburgh. She teaches Victorian, children’s and young adult literature. She is the author of Social Dreaming: Dickens and the Fairy Tale (2002).
