Event Navigation
Thursday, January 23rd, from 7:00pm-9:00pm, Mike Farrell, Director of Cornell’s Uihliein Forest will be presenting “Why Every Farm Should Have a Sugaring Operation- Even If You don’t Have Any Maple Trees.”
Although Mike lives right here in the Adirondacks, he has spent most of his adult life studying syrup production around the country and the world. His research into time-honored techniques and modern technology has been condensed into a do-it-yourself encyclopedia of maple, birch and walnut syrup; a book called The Sugarmakerメs Companion: An Integrated Approach to Producing Syrup from Maple, Birch, and Walnut Trees.
A suggested donation of $5 per person is appreciated. Hot beverages will be provided by the Pok-O-MacCready Outdoor Education Center, where the event will be hosted. Click Here to REGISTER
