The Amalgamates are a trio of musicians/vocalists whose repertoire draws from folk, jazz, bluegrass, pop, and southern US fiddle traditions.

Bassist Mark Murphy is one of the most versatile voices in acoustic music today. He’s performed on the Nashville Network, A Prairie Home Companion, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien as well as live performances with Pilobilus Dance Company and The Vanaver Caravan.

Percussionist Steve Finkelstein is a mainstay of the New York City music scene. He is a long-time member of The Funk Filharmonic and is currently recording and touring with The Joni Project.

Banjo/Mandolin player Jeff Schmich is a founding member of The Brewflies and leader of the instrumental group Wolfgang’s Revenge.
