Remapping the World: Anticipating American Dominance 1941-45

In the early 1940s radical changes in map-making helped create a new view of the world that anticipated the coming American dominance. Andy Buchanan, professor of history at UVM, will discuss this sea-change in how Americans envisioned the world and its consequences.

Andrew Buchanan is a senior Lecturer in Global and Military History at the University of Vermont. he is the author of American Grand Strategy in the Mediterranean during World War II, and World War II in Global Perspective, 1931-1953.
