Grange Dinner & Concert: Le Vent du Nord

May 17, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Whallonsburg Grange Hall will present one of the best bands of the Quebec music scene. Known throughout the world for their joyful brand of traditional music, Le Vent du Nord (“the north wind”) has been touring the globe since 2002, presenting a unique sound that moves the heart – and feet – of audiences. The quartet performs with a mix of fiddle, guitar, accordion, bouzouki and hurdy-gurdy. Terrific musicians and fine vocalists, they preserve and share the traditions of francophone Canada and reflect Celtic, Cajun, Acadian and old-world influences.

A special Quebec-style supper (pea soup, salad, bread and dessert) will be available before the show. The meal begins at 5:00 p.m. and costs $7 / $3 under 10. The music begins at 7:00 p.m., and tickets are $17 in advance and $22 at the door, with a special price of $7 for those under 18. All ages are welcome.

Advanced tickets are on sale at the Dogwood Bakery in Wadhams or at the Grange. You can also mail a check to the WCA, PO Box 54, Essex, NY 12936.

This performance is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.
