Join us as we celebrate the Grand Opening of the newest trail in the CATS network, the High Point Trail on Willsboro Point in Willsboro!
About two miles long, the High Point Trail has two loops which wind through deep forest, along rock walls, and past several ephemeral (seasonal) ponds and wetlands that provide habitat for a variety of amphibians, including the bright orange juvenile newts called “efts.” It features the highest point on Willsboro Point which isn’t a mountain—it’s simply the top of small rise on the fairly level peninsula surrounded by Lake Champlain. It’s a cool and relaxing trail, perfect on a warm day!
Directions from the junction of Route 22 and Farrell Road in Willsboro: Go north on Farrell Road for 2 miles where it meets Point Road. Turn left and go about 1.4 miles to the High Point Trailhead, which is also 0.6 mile north of Frisbie Road.
