The Champlain Valley Film Society presents: Where the Rivers Flow North.
Set in the late 1920’s, this is a deeply moving story about an older couple who are being pushed off their land by a power company that wants build a hydroelectric damn that will flood their property. The Los Angeles Times said, “This is a beautiful, deeply-moving film, one of the best roles of Rip Torn’s career.”

HOWARD FRANK MOSHER is the author of three other novels set in the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont: Northern Borders, Disappearances, and A Stranger in the Kingdom. His awards include Guggenheim and National Endowment for the Arts fellowships and an American Academy of Arts and Letters Literature Award,
JAY CRAVEN is the director of four films based on Moser’s novels. His awards include two New England Emmys and two National Endowment for the Arts film grants. His films have been screened at the Smithsonian and Lincoln Center.
