Essex Library Program: Visiting Concord

On Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m, Library Assistant Julie Steeves (of the Belden Noble Memorial Library) will present photos from her recent trip to Concord, Massachusetts, scene of the start of the Revolutionary War and the home of several famous 19th century authors, including Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. These authors were all friends and they arranged to be buried together at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. Julie and her husband Jon toured two of their homes. Julie’s talk promises to inspire you to to visit this not-too distant town of historical significance.
