Community panelists will share perspectives on how the ideals of the Declaration of Independence both challenged and inspired the ongoing struggle for liberty and equality in America. \nTogether\, we will also explore the North Country’s connection to these larger national stories and invite audience members to take part in an open and welcoming conversation about freedom\, history\, and community today. \nWhether you come to listen\, share\, learn\, or reflect\, all are welcome to be part of this meaningful discussion. \nPanelists include: \nJacqueline Madison\, North Star Underground Railroad Historical Association \nPeter Slocum\, Adirondack History Museum \nModerated by Laurie House\, Elizabethtown Social Center  \nWednesday\, June 176:30pm \nChildren Welcome! Rooted in the rich history of traditional music\, this session explores how familiar melodies and songs can be reimagined through modern arrangements\, fresh harmonies\, and contemporary rhythmic ideas. Participants will learn how to honor the essence of traditional tunes while shaping them into something new\, dynamic\, and uniquely their own. Maggie’s Wake will also share how traditional melodies have inspired their own original writing and repertoire\, offering insight into their own creative process.
